Vanderbilt observes Structure Day with free speech live performance, voter registration, studying | Vanderbilt Information

Vanderbilt College will observe Structure Day and Citizenship Day on Tuesday, Sept. 17, with a studying of the U.S. Structure, a live performance celebrating the First Modification and alternatives to register to vote.

The Central Library will host an occasion beginning at 1 p.m. that includes college students, school, library employees and others studying the textual content of the Structure aloud. There will even be a desk within the Central Library foyer with free copies of the Structure from the Authorities Printing Workplace.

At four p.m., the Workplace of Energetic Citizenship and Service, Vanderbilt Pupil Media and the Martha Rivers Ingram Commons will rejoice the First Modification with a live performance by high native musicians enjoying standard music that has been banned or censored up to now. A narrator will present context about free speech between songs. Artists whose work shall be featured embody Loretta Lynn, Stevie Surprise, Widespread, Taylor Swift and extra.
