How to watch Apple’s 2019 iPhone event — and what to expect

When the calendar flips from August to September, it can only mean two things: Kids head back to school and Apple launches its latest and greatest iPhone.

The tech juggernaut will be holding its annual keynote event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, where it is expected to unveil a slew of new devices.

The keynote will begin at 1 p.m. Eastern, and will be streamed on Apple’s website as well as on its YouTube and Twitter pages.

Here’s what to expect:

New iPhones: Apple will lift the curtain on a trio of new smartphones. Two will be direct successors to the iPhone XS and XS Max models — which may be dubbed the iPhone 11 or iPhone Pro — beefed up with faster processors and a third rear-facing camera. The other will be a sequel to the iPhone XR, and is expected to come in an array of new colors.

Apple Watch: The world’s best-selling watch is set for an upgrade that may see it expand its health-tracking capabilities to include sleep-tracking features. Apple is also expected to reveal new casing materials for the smartwatch, including ceramic and titanium.

Apple’s other products: Look for Apple to offer more details on its forthcoming Apple TV Plus streaming service, as well as more information about its Apple Arcade gaming subscription.
