  1. We had to do that as a part of our certification dives. We used 2 liter bottles. Really drives home the need for safety stops.

  2. It’s more fun to fill the bottle at the bottom, screw the lid on and then send it up. 💥

  3. Did this but on an airplane once. Best part is that when you open it once the plane reaches cruising altitude, you get a nice pop when opening it, and when the plane lands, the bottle crunches up.

10/10 would recommend to anyone who ever goes on a plane

  4. I’ve never looked at water density this way. At higher density, there’s a lot more water in the given space. Fascinating. Also, props to that diver for being able to pop their ears so well.

  5. Neat, but r/nextfuckinglevel neat? Too bad it isnt a hot paraplegic older person. Would be reallllllllllly r/nextfuckinglevel then

  6. Am I the only one that would let go of the bottle and watch it rocket back to the surface ???

  7. This is really cool. I always knew the dangers of water pressure but was never really ever to fully comprehend them. It’s awesome to get a visual representation of it.

  8. Might be a stupid question, but shouldn’t the diver be going up and down in sections to help the body transition from the varying pressures?

  9. Is that the 140x pool (or something like that)

The worlds deepest man made diving pool

  10. Fun Fact: When the preform is injected with air to make the PET bottle into its shape, is injected tith liquid NO2 – that won’t happen, unless you go really deep & stay there.

  11. Going up and down like that without a safety stop is a recipe for decompression sickness. If done over and over.
