As we have a good time Nationwide Honey Bee Day, hear from James Moore, Vanderbilt’s panorama architect, about how tons of of acres of bushes, inexperienced areas and gardens throughout Vanderbilt’s campus help 1000’s of bees. With hives on the roof of the central library, bees are the analysis focus of Manuel Giannoni-Guzmán, a postdoctoral scholar in organic sciences. Giannoni-Guzmán’s analysis has proven that bees can inform time by temperature and the way pesticides have an effect on a bee’s mind. He conducts his analysis within the lab of Doug McMahon, Stevenson Chair of Organic Sciences and Director of the Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program.
