‘Me3gan 2.0’ & ‘SoulM8Te’ Spin-off Get New Looks at Cinemacon – ryan

There have been nonstop Announcements from Cinemacon 2025as some of the biggest movie studios Reveal exciting new information about upcoming projects from this year and beyond. After some engaging presentations from Sony Pictures and Warner Bros. Earlier this week, day three of Cinemacon Saw Universal Take the Stage. Among the Films Shown, including a Screening of the Live Action How to Train Your Dragon remake, the studio has also provided an update on the sequel to the surprise 2022 hit M3gan. The Techno-Thriller Horror Movie was released in Early January 2022, and was a box office hit despite not being part of a well-known horror franchise. Now, cinemacon attendees were given an exclusive look at the sequel, M3gan 2.0and its spin-off Soulm8te.

The footage for M3gan 2.0 Teases a sequel that takes an unexpected and exciting direction, with a much more action-faced premise. After the footage recaps the events of the first movie with clips from M3ganNew footage was shown, which features the titular character, who is now trapped in the body of a smaller toy but still voiced by Jenna Davis. Gemma (Allison Williams) has Put Megan into a Body They Could Control Until She and Cady (Violet McGraw) can trust her. However, things take a turn when a new malevolent ai enters the picture.

A new robot named amelia comes into play in M3gan 2.0Built Off of Megan’s Design and Seemingly Unstoppable. From this point, amelia is shown going rogue with the objective of killing everyone involved with her creation, gemma and cady included. Left with no choice, Gemma Gives Megan An Upgraded (and Taller) Body to Fight Against Amelia. Unfortunately, Megan regaining her autonomy may also have unintended consequences for gemma.

Megan’s Fight With Amelia in the Footage Shown for M3gan 2.0 is filled with plenty of action, with Megan even in a wingsuit at one point. However, the footage ends on an ominous notes, with Megan attempt to bargain with amelia, saying she can kill gemma but not cady. The M3gan Spin-off movie, Soulm8teMeanwhile, Looks to be a Riff on the Recently Released Horror Film Companyonly the roles are reversed. Based on footage description from cinemacon, the movie will center on an adult robot being delivered to a man’s apartment, with the robot growing closer to and obsessing over its ownner. When the owner’s girlfriend tries to “negotiate” with the robot, the ai turns on her and attempts to drown her sayimg, “Don’t try that girl power sh*t with me.”

The M3gan 2.0 and Soulm8te Footage descriptions tease two vastly different movies, each with its own unique humor and horror. Universal and Blumhouse have seamingly created another hit franchise with M3ganand should these two films to be as successful as the original film was in 2022, there could very well be plenty more M3gan Films in our future.
