My Melbourne film reflects the emotional journey of identity and struggle through four stories. Directed by Onir Imtiaz Ali Reema Das and Kabir Khan, this anthology film deeply connects the audience. Film story

The film begins with the story -directed story Nandini. Mihir (Molly Ganguly) reaches Melbourne with his wife’s bones. His gay son Indranil (Reema Das) lives with his partner. Mihir did not allow Indranil to meet his mother for this reason. But now the father and son have to immerse the bones together. The second story is of Jules Imtiaz Ali. Jules (Cat Stewart) is homeless. Sakshi (Aarushi Sharma), who came to Melbourne after getting married, is a victim of her husband’s neglect. She works in a restaurant. The lives of Jules and Sakshi, who are living two opposite lives, connect with each other. Witnesses with social expectations, personal challenges learn to stand for their freedom by looking at Jules. The third story is of Emma (Riana Sky Lasan) directed by Reem Das, who wants to become a dancer, but the syndrome she has, which is gradually decreasing her listening ability. Embaried about her future, Emma meets a successful deaf dancer, who has fulfilled her dreams by making this weakness her strength. The fourth story is Kabir Khan director star. The star has come to Melbourne with her mother and sister after the Taliban occupation in Afghanistan. The star used to be in his school cricket team in Afghanistan. He also gets a chance to play in the cricket team in Melbourne school. Being an Afghan refugee, the star of the star does not want the star to come in the eyes of many people. However, star finds an affinity for herself in a new country through cricket.

Every story has been told in the beginning of the film itself. The special thing is that every story is about half an hour, in which writers and directors are told without any noise. The film stars Hindi, English, Bangla, Dari (one of the two official languages ​​of Afghanistan), the use of sign (symbolic) languages. Although the film has all the title in English, but who will have difficulty in understanding English, he will not understand the big part of the film. The story of My Melbourne, apart from the fast-paced music, songs and editing of commercial films, goes on its slow pace. Finding his true identity, one feels associated with all the characters of the film looking for self -belonging in an unknown country. The film, which has been shown at many film festivals, proves to be a step towards changing that thinking in theaters, which is said that the festivals are not made for theaters. Reema Das was also associated with the film editing team, so she also manages to maintain uniformity between different stories.

Acting and directions

Sitara Amiri has played his character himself. His story touches the heart. There is no realization from anywhere that she is facing the camera for the first time. Aarushi Sharma, in the role of Sakshi, is made an example for all the girls who are suffocating with their husbands in another country and are unable to raise their voice.
