At a time when martial arts epics had been coming into their very own the place swordsmen would embark on righteous journeys of heroism, there was a rising style of movies that launched into sexual journeys of want. In Intercourse For Sale, Chin Han, an Asian Rudolph Valentino, performs an unemployed drifter who finds work as a male mannequin. Because the title implies and with components of Midnight Cowboy, Chin is thrust into sexual conditions he is not ready for. Surrounded by a veritable harem of horny Shaw Brothers actresses, just like the coquettish Tina Chin Fei and the slinky Ai Ti, the movie even dares to enter the world of homosexuality as Chin declines the advances of an effeminate suitor who later commits suicide for the rejection. It is a daring movie for its time contemplating that homosexuality was “unlawful” again then.
