Houck wins MLB debut, goes 5 innings, Purple Sox clean Marlins

Tanner Houck pitched 5 scoreless innings to win his main league debut and the Boston Purple Sox defeated the Miami Marlins 2-0

MIAMI — Tanner Houck gave up simply two singles over 5 innings to win his main league debut, pitching the Boston Purple Sox previous the Miami Marlins 2-Zero Tuesday evening.

Houck, the first-round draft decide of the Purple Sox in 2017, struck out seven and walked three on 86 pitches. The 24-year-old righty turned Boston’s 15th beginning pitcher this season.
