Feeling Dehydrated? Your Body Needs High Quality Water
In this video I discuss why I don’t drink water anymore. Read this entire segment below to maximise your education from this video.
At a certain point along my healing journey I started to realise that drinking plenty of water was no longer hydrating me ON A CELLULAR LEVEL.
I was remaining in this state of feeling like I had to chug water although I was not becoming any less thirsty and I was instantly peeing it all out. My urine was very light and watered down (which is not a good thing, even though we are taught that it is).
This was happening to me because plain water has no electrolytes so it is not easily absorbed by the blood cells. Water on it’s own is therefore not hydrating for the body at all and mostly runs straight through our system and out the other end (unless you’ve sweat a lot of you’re in hot weather and notice you aren’t peeing it straight out).
Drinking excess amounts of water also puts an extra burden on the kidneys and distracts the kidneys from their core function – filtering out toxins and acids.
My no means am I saying that for those who are experiencing a lot of thirst should stop drinking water or deprive yourself when your body is craving this. Please follow and listen to your bodies needs!
Although what I am saying is to explore and experiment…
If you are thirsty all the time but you think you drink enough water, then that is a sure sign that the water you are drinking is moving straight through you and is not being properly absorbed.
Instead of drinking 8 glasses of water a day, buy a watermelon or another fruit that is filled with water (pineapple, oranges, berries, papaya, grapes, mangoes, grapefruit, apples, pears etc) and make a big bowl of any of those fruits.
Consume the fruit on it’s own and wait 20 minutes. How do you feel? Do you feel more hydrated?
Some of you may feel uncomfortable when eating fruit initially. I will address that in my next video on the topic of food combinations.
Aside from fruit for hydration opt for lemon juice squeezed into your water (makes the water more absorbable) or do fresh coconut water (100% pure coconut water with no added nasties). You can also buy high quality electrolytes to put into your water.
Also focus on HIGH WATER vegetables like tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers and celery.
Start your day with a huge glass of celery juice and up your fruit intake and you’ll be hydrating your cells enormously.
FYI I never suggest anyone drink tap water due to the flouride. Make sure whatever water you are drinking is from a filter and try to avoid drinking all your water our of plastic bottles as it’s not good for you or the environment.
