MCD screws on dangerous buildings in Delhi, negligent officers have fallen

New -Delhi, April 20 (IANS). The Delhi (MCD) municipal corporation started a major campaign against dangerous and illegal high buildings. Building number D-26 of Gali No-1, Shakti Vihar in Nehru Vihar, Delhi, was described as illegal. The MCD has started recording throughout the region. The building is located in an illegal colony, where the fifth and sixth floor is built. This raised many questions about how illegal construction was done to such a height and how it was saved from the eyes of the officials concerned. Now the MCD has taken strict measures against responsible officials. Junior engineer Faizan Raza, who was placed in the region from March 2019 to August 2021, has now been rejected. He also had to face disciplinary action earlier. Three other officers were also punished, they were either removed from service or compulsory retirement. Currently posted, junior engineer Ravi Kumar Singh was removed from the building section for a fair investigation and sent to another department of the zone, and a notice on the cause was also issued to them. The MCD has so far identified and manufactured 15 such buildings in the region, with five or more storeys,. The sealing and demolition will be done about this soon. In addition, the Pass Property Number 17, D1 Street, D-Block, on which the demolition order has already been issued on March 25, will now be demolished soon. The MCD has made it clear that no building building is allowed in illegal colonies and that such construction will not be tolerated. High buildings in densely populated areas can cause serious threats. Therefore, the MCD recording campaign will continue and whatever illegal constructions will be found will be acted immediately. -Ians DSC/CBT Share this story Tags
