President Niketan in Dehradun will be opened to the general public from June 24
Dehradun, May 24 (IANS). President Niketan in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, will be opened to the general public from June 24. The 186 -year -old 21 hectare place is inaugurated by the initiative to increase the participation of citizens with the legacy of President and Rashtrapati Bhavan. In terms of this initiative, Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Nilayam (Hyderabad) and Presidential Residence (Mashebra) have been opened for the general public since 2023. Since 2025, the Guard of Change ceremony has begun in a new form in the premises of Rashtrapati Bhavan, in which the seating ability has been increased. India’s president Draupadi Murmu visits President Niketan on June 20 and is preparing to open it to the general public. On this occasion, she will also lay the foundation stone of 132 hectares of Ecological Park, President’s Udyan. President Niketan was previously known as ‘President Ashiana’. It was used by the president’s bodyguards for the training of PBG horses. A collection of artifacts is now displayed in this heritage building and it offers a glimpse of its rich heritage. Visitors are given the opportunity to see the stables and horses of the president’s bodyguards. In addition, Lily Talab, Rockry Pond, Rose Garden and Pergola will also be attraction centers. Apart from President Niketan, people can also visit President Tapovan on a 19 -acre forest on Rajpur Road. The Tapovan provides a cool place in nature with lots of deci trees, curved footpaths, wooden bridges, high scaffolding to see birds and cool places for reflection and meditation. The president’s Udyan will be opened to the public next year. This garden is planned to be developed as an environment and an entertaining place, including the theme, a butterfly garden, a beautiful lake, a bird and special sports fields for children. The park scheme also contains a sports zone, hiking trail, jogging and cycling tracks, water conservation systems and external teaching installations, which will provide experiences such as building a live orbit that encourages family engagement in harmony with environmental awareness, active lifestyle and nature. -Ians PSK/As Share This Story Tags
