Dire Wolves Howl Again After 12,000 Years: 12,500 years ago, the extinct ‘Dyer Wolf’ has been revived by the US -based biotechnology company Colossal Biosciences. This historical scientific success is being discussed worldwide. The special thing is that Tesla and X (East Twitter) owner Alan Musk has also reacted to this news. Scientists have revived the extinct species Dyer Wolf about 12,500 years ago through genetic engineering. The names of two pups in the scientific world are named Romulus and Remus. They are only six months old, but they are already about four feet long and they weigh more than 36 kg.
Meet Romulus and Remus—the first animals ever resurrected from extinction. The dire wolf, lost to history over 10,000 years ago, has returned. Reborn on October 1, 2024, these remarkable pups were brought back to life using ancient DNA extracted from fossilized remains.

According to a CNN report, the company behind his resurrection, Texas -based collosal Biosyinses stated that, they have created Dyer Wolf Pups using ancient DNA, cloning and gene editing. Dyer Wolf was popularized by the HBO series ‘Game of Thrones’. Dyer Wolf is the extinct ancestor of Gray Wolf which was large and powerful in size. Scientists prepared a clone with Gray Wolf’s DNA with DNA of ancient Dior Wolf’s teeth and scalp and prepared a cloned by mixing DNA.

George Church, co-founder of Colossal and Professor of Harvard and MIT, said, it is a game-changer for us. We took out the cell from the blood, cultured them and successfully cloned them. It gained popularity in the game of Thrones series. The behavior of pappis is different from today’s Wolf. According to Time magazine, they do not show enthusiasm towards humans, but stay away. Even the handler who is raising them from birth cannot go too close. These dyer wolf papies are currently placed in an area of 2,000 acres on a secret location, where 10 feet high fencing, security guards, drones and live cameras are being monitored. Colossal Biosciences said that after Dyer Wolf, they are now trying to bring back extinct species like Woly Mammath, Dodo and Tasmanian Tiger.
