PSI asks for a park in Jakarta to open not only 24 hours but also animal -friendly
Jakarta -DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD member of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Francine Widjojo, asked the Jakarta provincial government not to just open a park 24 hours a day. It will remain, says Francine, his party also asked the provincial government to also make the parks in Jakarta animal friendly, especially for cats. “It would be nice if this step was followed by the park -friendly parks, especially for cats maintained by most preferred recording by 47 percent of the Indonesians,” Francine on Sunday (6/15/2025) told reporters. Francine appreciated the steps of the Jakarta provincial government to open parks for 24 hours. He hopes that the 24-hour open parks are also animal-friendly, especially cats, according to the survey as the most preferred animals by 47% of Indonesians to go with the content. “It would be nice if this step was followed by the park-friendly parks, especially for cats that are maintained by the most preferred survey by 47 percent of Indonesians,” Francine said. Francine cited the results of the Rakuten Insight Survey in several countries in Asia who noted that cats were the most interviewed animals by Indonesian citizens by a percentage of 47% in 2021. He said the percentage of Indonesian people holding the cats was higher than other countries in Asia. To make parks in Jakarta, Francine said, the Jakarta provincial government must sterilize the cats in the park. The Jakarta Provincial Government must also provide special locations for visitors to the park to provide cats so that the park is neatly arranged. “In addition, the DKI Jakarta provincial government must provide health services for cats in the park. In addition to sterilization, cats should also get a vaccine, especially rabies vaccine to maintain Jakarta-free Jakarta for about 20 years,” Francine added. According to Francine, parks that are facilitated can become animal-friendly educational tourism locations. So, he said, residents do not have to go far to the cat Island. “So residents don’t have to go far to the island of cats,” he said. “Jakarta needs at least 15 animal health or puskeswan centers,” he continued. The plan, in 2026, will have Jakarta 10 Puskeswan and 6 veterinary art (Moyanvet). Franchine said animal -friendly parks would also apparently open work in the animal feed industry. “With the community actively involved in caring for street cats, the animal feed industry will naturally develop,” Francine said. Francine said the parks made animal -friendly better than making the thematic islands of cats by moving a large number of cats to the small Tidung Island in the thousand islands. “In addition to not having an Amdal, Tidung Kecil Island is a conservation area of the waters. If a large number of cats are resettled, the ecosystem can damage the ecosystem there,” Francine said. As is known, Jakarta -Governor Pramono Anung has officially opened five city parks that work for 24 hours. The inauguration is a form of dedication from the DKI Jakarta provincial government to expand green open space and create friendly public space for all citizens. “Today is officially for me to activate the 24 -hour park, we performed in this Banteng Field Park,” said Pramono on Friday (5/16) in Banteng Field, Central Jakarta. Five parks opened in Central Jakarta for 24 hours were Menteng Park and Banteng Field Park. While in the South Jakarta, there is Taman Leading gate, Taman Ayodya and Marta Christina Tiahahu Literacy Park. Pramono said he was surprised by the enthusiasm of the community and different communities present, ranging from the night bike community, reptile lovers, cat and dog communities, to yoga communities and Night Park fans. In fact, while reviewing it, he also participated in yoga activities for the first time. “I didn’t expect the place to be better than I expected. And the community that came gave extraordinary enthusiasm,” he added. (WHN/WHN) HOEGENG Awards 2025 Read the inspiring story of the exemplary police candidate here
