Amendment of electricity rates in Haryana, domestic consumers will have to face higher rates from 1 April

After amendment by the Haryana electricity regulatory commission (HERC), the electricity figures in Haryana will rise from April 1, 2025. The new rates, which will affect both domestic and industrial consumers, will increase by 20 to 30 paise per kWh (kWh). For domestic consumers, the rate for 0-50 unit plates was increased from Rs 2 to Rs 2.20 per kWh, while the rate for 51-100 unit plates rose from Rs 2.50 to Rs 2.70 per kWh. Consumers using more than 100 units will also have an increase in 0-150 units of plates, with the rates of Rs 2.75 to Rs 2.95 per kWh. The revised tariff order was issued late Tuesday night. According to the official statement, rates for domestic consumers of category I in FY1 21 were reduced from Rs 2.70 per unit to Rs 2 for 0-50 units plates, while the rate for consumption was reduced between 51 to 100 units from Rs 4.50 per unit to Rs 2.50 per unit. In the latest amendment, rates were adjusted at Rs 2.20 per unit for 0-50 units and Rs 2.70 per unit for 51-100 units. The new tariff structure also provides immediate relief to the families by abolishing the monthly minimum fee (MMC). However, a two -part tariff system has been introduced, in which no flat fee is set for domestic consumers consumed up to 300 units per month. The official statement claimed: “Tariff is still the lowest in the neighboring states for domestic consumers of category I.” Share this story -tags
