US Vice President Vance's visit to India, an opportunity to review progress in bilateral relations: Ministry of Foreign Affairs
New -Delhi/Washington, April 16 (IANS). US Vice President JD Vance will be on a visit to India from April 21 to 24. The Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that the visit would give both parties the opportunity to review the progress in bilateral relations and implement the results of the Indo-US-joint statement released in February during Premier Narendra Modi’s visit to Washington. Vance is on an official visit to India from April 21 to 24. He will be accompanied by his wife Ushha Vance, her children and senior members of the US administration. This will be Vice President Vance’s first visit to India. During the visit he met Premier Modi on April 21. The US Vice President and his delegation have other Delhi programs and also have a program to visit Jaipur and Agra before leaving for Washington on April 24. In a statement issued late Wednesday night by the Foreign Affairs Ministry, it is said: “The journey will give the two parties an opportunity to revise the results of the Indo-American joint statement released on February 13 during the Premier’s visit to the US. The two parties will also exchange ideas about regional and global development.” Earlier in the day, the White House also announced the upcoming visit of US Vice presidents to Italy and India. India is second in Vance’s two countries, while Italy is their first stop. It will be a US Vice President’s visit to India over 13 years. The last time Biden came to India as vice president. Vance’s office said in a statement: “In India, Vice President New Delhi, Jaipur and Agra will visit. He will hold a meeting with Premier Narendra Modi.
