WAQF Amendment Bill Part of the country's Anti -Muslim area: Subodh Kant Sahay
Raipur, April 2 (IANS). The WAQF (amendment) Bill, 2025, was introduced in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. The leader of the congress and former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahai has described it over the past ten years as part of the anti -muslim atmosphere. During a conversation with Ians, he said that the bill makes basic changes in the operation of the WAQF Board, which will not only be part of the Muslim community, but also include people from Hindu and other religions. He said that WAQF is an Islamic tradition and that there is no justification to engage Hindu people, as it is a religious and Islamic system in which land is donated in the Name of God. He objected to it, saying that the whole purpose of the WAQF board is to maintain the tradition of the Muslim society, and it is like weakening his autonomy and religious identity. He also said that this change is beyond the concept, and questioned why the need for such change in the tradition of Muslim society and their religious structure is felt. Subodh Kant Sahay calls the bill a step offered under a well -planned strategy. He claimed that the Modi government has been taking anti -muslim attitude over the past ten years, and this bill is part of it. He also said that efforts are being made by this bill to control the properties of the Muslim community. He believed that this whole process would be entangled in the Supreme Court and create more disagreement in society. The former Union Minister also said that the bill against the definition is formed to ensure the rights of the Muslim community, and it will not only affect Muslim society, but also the general Indian society. -Ians PSM/Ekd shares this story -tags
