The case of the death of Chief Engineer caught fire, CM Sukhu and the opposition to claim CBI investigation

The political atmosphere due to the death of a chief engineer in Himachal Pradesh became very hot. On Monday, there was a fierce dispute between the head of state Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and the leader of the opposition Jairam Thakur, which claimed a CBI investigation into the death of HPPCL’s chief engineer. CM Sukhu said those who are investigated in a high level will not be spared. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh talked about the murder in the home that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) are in the hands of the BJP and said that these agencies should not be abused for political profits. However, the remarks of the chief minister made BJP members angry and went out of the house and shouted slogans. The engineer’s wife made serious allegations, chief engineer Vimal Negi went missing on March 10 and her body was found in Bilaspur on March 18. Then his wife claimed it was “not a suicide, but a murder” and said her husband was under great pressure, she was not even discharged and senior officials harassed her despite poor health. Chief Minister Sukhu said that Vimal Negi’s wife is like his sister and the home ensures that the case will be fairly investigated. He said the government could protect people’s lives and property. The emphasis is on making the investigation more effective using modern technology and sharing information with other states. Law and order collapsed: Jai Ram Thakur CM Sukhu, while claiming the reduction in the incident of crime during his tenure, told the home that a total of 44,426 cases in the state from 2017 to 2020 were registered during the BJP rule, while only 42,180 cases were registered during the current government. Similarly, 759 cases of rape were registered during the BJP rule, while 742 cases were registered during the current government. He said that the government had launched a target campaign against drugs and after implementing the PIT-NDPS Act, this evil was combated to a certain extent. He appreciated the initiative of the Superintendents of Shimla and Solan police in the fight against drugs and said that the property worth Rs 25.42 crore of drug smugglers had been seized over the past two years. Earlier, the leader of opposition and former chief minister of Jairam Thakur said that the law and orders situation in the state had deteriorated and that the gang war was seen for the first time. He repeated the question of a CBI investigation into the death of Vimal Negi. Jai Ram spoke to media persons outside the home and said that the opposition and the families of the deceased were constantly demanding a CBI investigation, but the government did not want to do so because the investigation would make very big revelations.
