Lucknow/Lakhimpur Kheri, June 18 (IANS). Under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a great achievement has achieved for water and environmental protection. Lakhimpur Kheri District has created a new history in water conservation by building 1 030 community dams within just one month (May 15 to June 15) under the ‘Har Gram Talab’ campaign. This unprecedented achievement was recorded in the India Book of Records, which reflects the Yogi government’s solid will and public participation models. Under the leadership of DM Durga Shakti Nagpal and CDO Abhishek Kumar, this campaign not only symbolized the water conservation, but also gave a new direction to the rural economy and empowerment of women. Pramel Dwivedi, the Judge of India Book of Records, acknowledged this achievement during a major honorary ceremony held on Wednesday in the Vivekananda Auditorium of Vikas Bhavan. He delivered certificates and medals to DM and CDO and described the district as a bright star of empowering water. This campaign made more than 700 hectares of land conservation and ensured the construction of 70-80 dams in each block. The Judge Pramel Dwivedi, who addressed the program, described it as an ideal example of collective efforts, administrative commitment and public participation. Through this historical record, Lakhimpur Kheri has proven that new heights of rural development can be touched by solid will and dedicated efforts. This campaign launched under his leadership not only showed the way to deal with the water crisis, but also prepared the basis to empower the rural community. DM Durga Shakti Nagpal said it is not just a record for the district administration, but a historical achievement arising from a public participation in water saving. We have achieved the goal of digging more than 1,000 dam in a month, and also with the determination that every dam should be ready before the first rain. The campaign is under the command of CDE Abhishek Kumar with full loyalty and leadership, and our dedicated team has turned it into mission mode. About 70 to 80 dams were dug in each block and about 700 hectares of land were converted into the water conservation area. It is no less than a revolution. He said that India Book of Records acknowledged our efforts and gave us this record certificate and medal during a ceremony. Today, his team not only inspected, but also decorated with the national record of ‘most of the dam construction in a month’.
