Unique story of Pope Francis

He was born on December 17, 1936 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In his youth he studied to become a chemical technician and worked in the food processing industry for some time. But then he got an attraction for the church and changed the direction of his life. At the age of 21 he got serious pneumonia and had to remove one of his lungs. Study philosophy and humanities in Chile and Argentina and then become teachers of literature and psychology in high school. In 1958 he joined the Jesuit organization. He became a minister in 1969 and became the head of the Jesuit organization in 1973. He became a bishop in 1992, Archbishop in 1998 and Cardinal in 2001. There was a lot of praise for his simplicity and honesty among the people. He was elected Pope after the resignation of Pope Benedict. He chose the name Francis who has the simplicity and service spirit of the St. Francis van Asi reflected. Pope Francis also paid particular attention to the climate crisis in the documents named ‘Laudato C’. He died on April 21, 2025 at the age of 88.
