Union Cabinet Sanctions Rs 8,741 Crore for Fifth and Sixth Rail Lines in ChhattisGarh
The Union Cabinet has promoted a major infrastructure for Chhattisgarh and approved the construction of the fifth and sixth railway line from Kharsia to Naya Raipur and Paractalasa, which is an estimated cost of Rs 8,741 crore. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced this on Friday by emphasizing the importance of the transport network of the project. The new lines cover 278 route cilometers and 615 lane kilometers, which will meet the increasing demand for passenger and goods transport in the state. This initiative is expected to reduce the congestion in the region to a great extent, which has long faced challenges to face the high demand for passenger track services. Vaishnav said the new lines would effectively eliminate existing congestion, which will ensure smooth and more efficient train operations. The project will also include the construction of 21 stations, 48 bridges, 349 small bridges and 5 rail aircraft, which will create a strong rail network. This upgrade is expected to have a profound impact on the economy and the environment. The project will export the transport of 21-38 million tonnes of extra goods annually and facilitate the operation of eight new trains, including Mail Express and semi-high velocity services. It will not only promote cargo transport, but also increase passenger connectivity within the area. An environmental advantage of this project is that it will save about 113 million kg CO2 output, which is equivalent to planting 4.5 crore trees. This underlines the alignment of the project with stability goals, while addressing the transport requirements of the region. Railway details will improve overall connectivity in Chhattisgarh, especially the transport of goods from industrial centers and Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Jharkhand to southern regions. The government hopes that this project will increase economic activity, create new jobs and make a boom and more effective contribution to the transport of goods. This infrastructure is part of the comprehensive effort under the Speed Power Scheme of the Development Prime Minister, which aims to strengthen the country’s logistics and transport capabilities.
