Two new rhino rehabilitation areas will be built in Dudhwa National Park for the conservation of rhino, the government has approved one and a half amount

The Uttar Pradesh government has taken an important step towards the conservation of rhinos and their safe home to develop two new rhino rehabilitation area (RRA) in the Dudhwa National Park in Lakhimpur Kheri. An amount of Rs 1.5 crore was assigned by the state government for this ambitious project. The purpose of this scheme is to prevent the declining number of rhino, promote their breeding and to ensure a safe and favorable environment for it. Dudhwa National Park, which is along the border of Nepal and is one of the most important protected areas of Northern India, is already considered a natural habitat of Asian rhinos. In 1984, some rhinos were brought to Assam for the first time. Now, the new government initiative expects their natural behavior to be maintained in a safe environment, along with the increase in the number of rhinos. According to officials of the forest department, the rhino rehabilitation area will be designed exclusively according to the requirements of the rhino. In this, proper grazing, water source, shadow yard and monitoring mechanisms, rhino will be arranged. In addition, these areas will also have CCTV cameras, patrol teams, fencing and scientific study facilities to constantly monitor the activities and health of the rhino. The field director of Dudhwa Tiger Reserve said that the project will not only help with the preservation of rhino but also promote eco-tourism. This initiative offers jobs to nearby residents and will help maintain the environmental balance. Experts believe that there was a decrease in the number of rhino due to increasing urbanization, poaching and a lack of natural habitat. In such a situation, this initiative is the question of time. Environmentalists and wildlife lovers have welcomed the government’s move and hoped that it would also become an example for other states. This project of the Government of Uttar Pradesh is seen as a great achievement in protection under the National Wildlife Board and Wildlife Protection Act 1972. Share this story -tags
