Villagers said against Waqf's notice in NUH: 'Land for Cemetery and Idgah'

NUH, APRIL 18 (IANS). In the Gurnawat -town Nuh district of Haryana, the Waqf Council issued a notice describing 3.5 hectares of land as WAQF property. Villagers are opposed to it and call it the land of their ancestors. The residents claim that WAQF has occupied the village country in the past. Villagers filed a petition in the District Court against the notice of the WAQF board. There is actually no Idgah and cemetery in town. Due to the dense settlement in the town, people from the Muslim community must also go to another town to offer Namaz. Villagers have been demanding cemetery and Idgah in town for years. When he started building Idgah on the land of town, the Waqf Council noted and gave notice. The Waqf Council wants to demolish the construction work. There is anger among the residents with this action. Villagers say that the WAQF board is notified a day before and hereby, the warning of actions shows the dictatorship of the council. The town of Sarpanch Arasad said that there is no land available for the cemetery in town, it is true. We demand that land be allocated for the cemetery. Rural Jamil Ahmed said his ancestors held 3.5 hectares of land for Idgah and cemetery. As we tried to build an IDGAH on it, Waqf came forward to demolish it. Our demand is that this country is not of Waqf, but of the town and a cemetery and Idgah must be built on it. Mohammad Abbas said he wanted to build an Idgah, but when he started making, the Waqf board stopped it. Waqf tells this country. We came to court against Waqf. -Ians DKM/Ekd shares this story -tags
