Trump administration is threatening to prosecute even judges of the Supreme Court that blocks immigration stinging | Today news
White House spokesman Karoline Leavitt has addressed the possibility of prosecuting federal judges or Supreme Court judges who could hinder immigration housing efforts. When asked whether the administration at higher level judges, including the federal or Supreme Court judges, will arrest, Leavitt replied by saying that anyone who impedes federal law enforcement efforts is at risk for prosecution. Federal law enforcement obstruction when asked by a reporter: “Would you ever arrest someone higher, such as a federal judge or even a Supreme Court Judge?”, Leavitt replied: “This is a hypothetical question. Anyone who violates the law or impedes federal law enforcement to do their job is absolutely absolutely. ‘ Leavitt continued, “… let’s be clear about what this Judge did: She hindered the federal law enforcement looking for an illegal stranger in her court of law. This remark follows the recent arrest of Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan, who was arrested by the FBI for allegedly helping an undocumented immigrant, Eduardo Flores Ruiz, to evade federal immigration authorities. Arrest of Judge Dugan Judge Dugan is accused of deliberately helping Flores-ruiz, who was sought by immigration authorities, to escape an immigration arrest in her courtroom. According to an FBI-yearly statement, after becoming visibly angry with the presence of immigration agents, Dugan allegedly ordered Flores-Ruiz and his lawyer through a back door of the court of law to avoid law enforcement. The FBI-yearly statement describes Dugan’s actions during the incident, noting her ‘confrontative, evil behavior’ and her involvement in the guidance of the arrest team away from Flores-Ruiz. She also led the team to the Chief Justice’s office before returning to the courtroom to lead the defendant through a non-public area. The reaction of Governor Tony Evers, a Democrat, condemned the Trump administration’s rhetoric and accused of undermining the judiciary. “The Trump administration uses dangerous rhetoric to attack and try to undermine our judiciary at every level,” Evers said in response to the incident. He expressed the confidence that the justice system would address the situation appropriately in court. Judge Dugan’s attorney, Craig Mastantuono, regretted the arrest, claiming it was “not made in the interests of public safety.” Legal consequences for Flores-Ruiz Flores-Ruiz, a 30-year-old immigrant, faced crimes of the household battery at the time of the incident. He entered the US again after being deported in 2013. Despite the legal charges against him, the Trump administration remains focused on his immigration status. The arrest of Judge Dugan emphasizes the growing conflict between state and local officials and the Trump administration’s aggressive immigration hilling policies, as well as the increasing tension between the executive branch and the federal judiciary.
