Tim Cook confirms that Apple AI spending will increase, 'open' for acquisitions | Mint

Apple first unveiled its artificial intelligence strategy at the WWDC event last year. More than a year later, some of the so -called ‘Apple Intelligence’ features of the iPhone manufacturer have not yet arrived, while the launch of many others has been violated by unwanted surprises. However, CEO Tim Cook remains connected on APLE’s AI road map and during the recent revenue call on Thursday, the company said the company ‘grows our investments’ significantly’ over artificial intelligence. In an interaction with CNBC, Cook also noted that Apple “embedded it over our devices, over our platforms and across the business.” Most importantly, Cook may have confirmed for the first time ever that Apple is ‘open’ for acquisitions to accelerate its AI road map. He also noted that Apple had purchased seven companies ‘approximately’ this year, but that none of them were ‘big in terms of the dollar amount’. “We’re open to M&A who accelerates our roadmap,” Cook said.
