The general secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Manoj Kumar Singh, following the instructions of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), has appointed an investigating officer to investigate issues related to the harvest of trees at a height of the 111km Kavad Marg project at a highlight of more than 20 meters. The issue was raised during the trial in February. In the hearing on April 7, whose order was charged on April 15, the NGT said: “The ASG suggested that according to the previous order, an investigating officer was appointed by the general secretary to investigate the issue raised in it. The tribunal is currently hearing the case of road construction, the ‘Kavad Marg’, which is proposed to go through ecological sensitive areas after taking a self -recognition of the Hindustan report time of February 1, 2024, saying how the forest division of the state government said the three forest divisions to build two jobs; 112,722 trees and shrubs were allowed to be cut. During the hearing on February 28, an additional report submitted to the Tribunal by the Joint Director of the Forest Survey of India (FSI) identified several places on the banks of the Upper Ganges channel, where the harvesting of trees exceeded the 20 meters limit. The additional report submitted by the officer also states that the UGC Road project did not receive compulsory final approval from the Union Ministry of Environmental Affairs, and that any tree harvest, no matter how broad, is a violation of the rules.
