The state task force has withdrawn the powers of chief medical officers from 5 districts with the worst gender relationship

About the instructions of the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Aarti Singh Rao, is the weekly meeting of the State Task Force (STF) that exists to improve the gender relationship in Haryana, on Tuesday chaired by the additional general secretary of the Department of Health, Sudhir Rajpal. The meeting focused on limiting illegal abortion and strengthening the efforts to improve the state’s gender relationship under the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign. The meeting emphasized that encouraging the results of the government’s ongoing efforts – from January 1 to July 28 this year, the state’s gender ratio increased from 899 to the previous year to 905. The additional general secretary emphasized the need for strict action against illegal abortion, including the cancellation of doctors convicted. He ordered that such hospitals and centers be removed from the list to be listed under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, and that any other government facilities should also be stopped at such centers. Illegal abortion centers must also be identified and under the guise of Diolese and CurateAge (D&C) process against them. He said the state implemented inverted detection in all medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) and abortion cases of more than 12 weeks, especially in cases where women already have one or more daughters. Ten FIRs were submitted last week in suspicious cases of reverse detection. It was notified during the meeting that there was a significant improvement in the gender ratio in 15 districts compared to last year, which resulted from regular regional operations such as raids and false operations. However, five districts, ie Ambala, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Palwal and Sirsa, performed less than expected and fell in the gender relationship compared to the previous year. The additional general secretary ordered a strict action to withdraw all the powers of the Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) of these five districts under the PNDT Act and give it to the CMOs of the neighboring districts. He said that the new CMO should immediately take the lead on these districts and start working to improve the gender relationship. In addition, the Nodal Officers of the PNDT Act will be replaced in these districts by giving them a charge page. Special groups at state level with HCS and other senior officials will oversee the maintenance monitoring and targeted interventions. The districts that have achieved a significant improvement in gender relationship will be encouraged and rewarded for their efforts. The meeting was attended by the Secretary of Health Department and Mission Director of National Health Mission, Ripudaman Singh Dhillon and senior officials from various departments.
