An Saudi French agreement for the manufacture of solar aircraft in the kingdom

The Saudi company “Airlines” has signed an agreement with the French “Xsun” to establish a Riyadh factory that produces solar -drones early next year, according to “Al -Sharq”, Mohamed Al -Harbi, the head of “Al -qaddiya”. He revealed that, according to the agreement, signed on the sidelines of the Saudi French Investment Forum in Riyadh, the production will begin three months after the factory was opened by manufacturing the first two drones at a cost of 10 million, which also includes parts for six aircraft. Al -Harbi noted that the target is the transfer of technology to Saudi Arabia within three years to be manufacturing, maintenance and training with Saudi hands. Added that the company, according to the agreement, has the right to sell exclusively in the Kingdom and neighboring countries in the Persian Gulf, as well as for the Middle East and North Africa. Benjamin David, founder and CEO of the French company, emphasized that the establishment of the factory in Saudi Arabia enables the business to develop technology in the kingdom and open a distribution line in the Middle East region, indicating that the Riyadh factory will include maintenance and training services. Regarding the plane technical specifications, David explained to Al -Sharq that it has extraordinary capabilities, as it can fly up to 12 hours at sunlight times and 4 hours at night, and it can be used in many uses, ranging from exploration and monitoring of the environment, agriculture and forests, in addition to other uses without producing any carbon emissions.
