The month of July is celebrated as the eradication of anemia

The civil surgeon, dr. Poonam Chaudhary, informed that Julie will be celebrated under the Anemia Open Haryana program as the month of anemia in the entire district. As part of the campaign, the health department will investigate hemoglobin to detect anemia in humans, provide proper treatment, educate the beneficiaries of nutrition and investigate repeatedly to assess the improvement. He said a video conference with all senior medical officers (SMOs) and medical officers is in charge to ensure the smooth implementation of the program. He emphasized that anemia, commonly known as ‘blood shortage’, is a serious state of health. “If left untreated, it can give rise to serious complications. The dose of iron and folic acid (IFA) is effective in preventing anemia and is determined by the age of the patient,” Dr. Chaudhary further stated that anemia -free India initiative in Haryana under the Atal campaign was started in March 2019 with the aim of eliminating anemia. Under this initiative, several campaigns were conducted, including anemia eradication and 100 -days challenges. Although there was a significant decrease in anemia, this problem was not completely eliminated, which decided to dedicate the month of July for this purpose, Dr. Chaudhary insisted. Dr. Chaudhary said the beneficiaries were classified into six groups – children between the ages of six to 59 months, children between 5 and 9 years old, teens aged 10 and 19, pregnant women, women of reproductive age and breastfeeding mothers. He advised people to take a diet rich in iron, protein and vitamin C to stay free from anemia, available in grains, fruits, vegetables, pulses and other foods such as raisins, almonds, dates, peanuts and eggs. Deputy Civil Surgeon, dr. Shashi Garg, said that the symptoms of anemia can include fatigue, shortness of breath, sleepiness, regular illness, lack of concentration in studies or concentration loss. Regular intake of IFA supplements helps to improve the physical and mental development of children, increase immunity, and better educational and daily performance. Share this story -tags
