Indonesia and the United States share strategies to face changes in the world of work
Jakarta – Minister of Manpower (Menaker) of the Republic of Indonesia, Yassierli held a bilateral meeting with the United States Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker), Keith E. The meeting discussed challenges and practices in service. This meeting has also become an open dialogue space for the two countries to share strategies and experiences in dealing with the dynamics of global employment, including challenges arising from technological developments, demands for sustainability and changes in the structure of the labor market. “This bilateral meeting provides a golden opportunity for us to exchange ideas and learn from experiences, especially to build a more resilient and inclusive employment system,” Yassierli said in a written statement on Thursday (12/6/2025). During the meeting, the Indonesian and the United States delegation exchanged information on a number of strategic issues, ranging from policy for occupational safety and health (K3), the system for placing foreign workers, to the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the world of work. The discussion also reviewed the implementation of the Industrial Relations Medicine Capacity Program once supported by the US government. Another topic of mutual concern is the continued Yassierli, the use of artificial intelligence technology (AI) for analyzing labor markets and improving employment services, as well as the development of green jobs that support the transition of the green economy. “Indonesia has a great potential to investigate technical collaboration with the United States in the field of occupational training for green jobs and the development of technology -based employment systems,” Yassierli said. This meeting added that Yassierli was a good start to build sustainable dialogue and open opportunities for future collaboration. “We are open to learning and establishing synergy,” Yassierli concluded.
