The provincial government of Banten will create a system so that Ojol drivers can install motorcycle tax
Serang -Banten -Governor Andra Soni said he would make a system so that the driver or online motorcycle driver (Ojol) could repay the vehicle tax. The policy is expected to alleviate the burden of drivers in the payment of vehicle tax. Andra emphasized that the Banten Provincial Government (Pemprov) is currently holding a elimination program for motor vehicles tax. He hopes that Ojol drivers benefit from the tax bleaching period that lasts until June 30, 2025. “In addition to the recreation of debt removal, we also agreed to build communication with the applicant to make functions so they can save money on the annual motor vehicles tax,” Andra said after holding an audience with Ojol drivers in the Banten Province, Serang City, Tuesday (5/2025). Browse to continue with the content if not possible by the applicator, the provincial government will communicate with Banten Bank to prepare a special savings system for tax payments for vehicles for OJOL drivers. “Another alternative, we work with Banten Bank so that they offer special counters. So drivers can save specially for their motor vehicles tax. They can pay RP 10 thousand each time,” he said. Andra realizes the problems that Ojol drivers face, especially because they were not permanent employees of the applicator and that they had to wear themselves in all industry needs. “We simply try to think. They work, their own motorcycles, their taxes pay themselves, damage carried by themselves. Accidents are not covered. It’s time, as governor I try to help things that are the authority of the local government,” he said. In addition, Andra said he had reached an agreement related to the demands of Social Security for Ojol drivers. The provincial government will provide social security in the form of BPJS employment. “They make demands. Some claims can be followed, especially with regard to BPJs. There is something we can process through social security for vulnerable workers, one of which is BPJs,” Andra said. The planned regulation of social security for vulnerable workers is currently discussed by the government and the Banten provincial DPRD in the Regional Regulation Formation Agency (Bapemperda). The provincial government will facilitate that managers of Ojol have been included in the category of protected vulnerable workers. “We will perfect academic manuscripts associated with OJOL. They can be included in the category of vulnerable workers we cover,” he said. (AIK/AZH) HOEGENG Awards 2025 Read the inspiring story of the exemplary police candidate here
