Brazil wants to export meat to Japan in a threat to the United States
Brazil, the world’s largest beef exporter, has begun advanced talks to provide Japan, according to a major industrial association in the country. Brazil has provided information about its production system and shipping for a period of twenty years, and it is now optimistic that one of the largest countries in the country in the world will eventually open its market, according to Roberto Peruza, who previously held a position in the country’s Ministry of Agriculture, and is the current president of the Brazilian meat expansors. “There are no more health issues in Brazil,” Peruza said in an interview. He added: “We are now enjoying political momentum” after the Japanese Minister of Agriculture, Taku Eto’o, last year. Brazilian beef will be allowed to enter Japan, to threaten competitive meat shatings from the United States. America is currently one of the most important meat suppliers to Japan, but the country has a severe livestock shortage, which has increased US meat imports from Brazil. Peruza said the prices of football futures are still rising, and this deficit is expected to continue at least until 2026. Currently, most meat supplies come to Japan from the United States and Australia, at higher costs than usually offered in Brazil, according to its saying. He added: “Brazil can complete the local production of beef, as we usually consume less than the type Japan needs, and we have a high supply capacity.” Peruza will visit Japan and Vietnam, two targeted market for Brazilian beef in early February. Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva made a planned trip in March. There is also optimism in the Brazilian government that Japan can open its market for Brazilian meat this year. “Through the Minister of Agriculture, Taku Eto’o talks about meat improves,” says Louis Roy, who works as the secretary of trade and international relations in the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture. He added that although the Japanese market for Brazilian beef may not open in March, this could happen by the end of this year.
