Police gave a clean shit to Sambhal Co. about 'disputed' comment
The Uttar Pradesh police have acquitted Sambhal’s circuit officer Anuj Chaudhary from any offense to allegations related to the comments made during the Holi and Eid celebrations. Former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Amitabh Thakur, however, criticized the state government for “saving” the officer despite the alleged violation of police rules. Mr. Thakur, an IPS officer from Uttar Pradesh of 1992, expressed dissatisfaction with the investigation report, saying that in the public domain it ignored the things described as “sufficient evidence”. Mr. Thakur told the Hindu: “The investigation report presented by the Superintendent of the Police (Law and Order), Uttar Pradesh, in which Mr. Chaudhary got a clean kit, despite the clear evidence of his statement violating the service rules, shows that the director -general of the police (DGP) supports the political propensity.” He further claimed that senior officials supported the comments of the first officer and accused the DGP of Mr. Chaudhary saved contrary to his constitutional oath.
