Sheikh Hasina could increase problems, Bangladesh Interpol requested to issue Red Corner notification

New -Delhi, April 20 (IANS). The problems of the deployed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh appear to be increasing. A formal request was sent by Bangladesh police to Interpol. Apart from Sheikh Hasina, similar actions are done against 11 other people. Everyone is accused of having conspiracy to distribute instability in Bangladesh and was involved in anti -national activities. The Dhaka Tribune confirmed this by quoting the Assistant Inspector General (Media) Inamul Haque Sagar at the country’s headquarters. Haq said the National Bureau (NCB) of Bangladesh Police requested Interpol to issue a red corner notice. He said: “This application was submitted regarding the allegations revealed during the investigation or in the continued case.” Bangladesh police recently registered a case against Sheikh Hasina and others for encouraging the civil war and conspiring to remove the interim administration led by Mohammad Yunus. Inamul Haque Sagar said this request was made based on appeals received from courts, prosecutors and investigations. He said that help from Interpol be taken based on the allegations made during the investigation process or to hear a case. If an accused is abroad and its place of residence is revealed, the information is sent to Interpol so that the accused in the country in question can be caught. Sagar also made it clear that this request for red notice is still underway and that the Interpol approval is awaited. It is noteworthy that the office of the International Crime Tribunal earlier in November 2024 requested police headquarters to seek the help of Interpol to catch Sheikh Hasina and other indifferent persons. Sheikh Hasina had to leave Bangladesh and come to India on August 5 last year, when the students came out on the road and protested on a large scale. As a result of these protests, the Awami League government of Sheikh Hasina, who has been underway for 16 years, was out of power. Currently, many of his associated leaders are in prison or have taken shelter in other countries. Sheikh Hasina is in contact with party workers from time to time and has given her the assurance that she will return to power again. -Ians PSM/KR Share this Story Tags
