AIMPLB Appeals Secular Parties Includes BJP Allies MPs to Prevent Waqf Amendment Bill
Waqf Amendment Bill 2025: The central government will introduce the House Waqf Amendment Bill on Wednesday (April 2) despite heavy protests. BJP -led NDA government has also announced to support this bill by JDU and TDP. BJP and Congress have issued whip. Meanwhile, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has appealed to other MPs along with BJP’s secular parties to prevent this bill from passing in the House.
Regarding this, AIMPLB has released a message on social media platform X. It said that BJP’s ally secular political parties along with other parties, an appeal to MPs to strongly oppose the Waqf Amendment Bill and do not vote in its favor under any circumstances.
Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, Chairman of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, has appealed to all secular parties and members of Parliament to not only strongly oppose the Waqf Amendment Bill to be presented in Parliament on Wednesday, but also vote against it. So that the communal agenda of BJP can be stopped.
‘Bill based on discrimination and injustice’
Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani said that this bill is not only based on discrimination and injustice, but it is also against the provisions of fundamental rights under Articles 14, 25 and 26 of the Indian Constitution. During this, Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani made many serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Modi government.
Khalid Saifullah Rahmani claimed that through this bill the BJP wants to weaken the Waqf laws. The aim of the BJP is to capture Waqf properties through this bill and prepare ways to destroy them. He said, “Despite being the place of worship act, cases of finding temples in every mosque are increasing continuously. If this bill is passed, then the property of Waqf will increase the government and non -government claims. This will clear the way for the Collector and District Magistrates to seize these property for the Collector and District Magistrates.”
‘Objective to indulge in legal protection’
The Chairman of the AIMPLB issued a public letter claiming that the amendment would eliminate the rights of the Waqf, remove exemption from the limit period law, include non-Muslim members in the Waqf boards and the Central Waqf Council and reduce the powers of the Waqf Tribunal. He said that all the changes will be made by the Waqf properties from their legal protection.
Khalid Saifullah Rahmani said, “This act provides for the inclusion of government institutions (central and state governments, municipal corporations and semi -autonomous bodies) and resolving government claims through Collector or District Magistrate instead of Waqf Tribunal. This is a modification that will make government intervention valid on the assets.” He said that it is a lot of mention that this security is also given to religious properties of other communities. Therefore, only Muslim Waqf properties are targeted, discrimination and injustice.

However, other political parties including Samajwadi Party, Congress, AIMIM have announced to protest this bill to Parliament Road. Now everyone’s eyes are on the Waqf Amendment Bill and the passage of it in the House. The BJP has accused the opposition parties of misleading Muslims on the Waqf Amendment Bill.
