US President Donald Trump has all recently surprised by announcing a historic trade agreement with Pakistan, while on the other hand he asked for 25% tariffs and additional rates on India. The time of both of these announcements makes it clear that the Trump administration is accepting a new strategic pressure policy in South Asia. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif thanked Trump for the agreement and described it as a growing move to the boundaries of permanent partnership. At the same time, India, who records Trump’s statements, said that it evaluated and committed its consequences to a mutually beneficial trade agreement. Oil and investment Trump for Pakistan also called the Energy Partnership with Pakistan in its truth social post. He wrote that we signed an agreement with Pakistan, whereby the two countries will develop their enormous oil reserves. This is misleading because there is not much practical information about Pakistan’s oil reserves. Experts believe that some limited areas of Pakistan may have oil resources, but that they are still unknown for technical, financial and geopolitical reasons. Trump’s pressure on India, Trump announced a day earlier 25% rates on all imports from India and additional fine on defense and energy transactions with Russia. He described the tariff of India as the world’s most stringent and disgusting rate and said that India should pay 25 percent from 1 August for the above rates and fine. In addition, Trump described India’s membership in Brics as part of the anti -America group and said it was part of the US attack on the dollar.
