Secretary Secretary of the United Nations speaks to Foreign Minister and condemns Pahalgam terrorists incident
New -Delhi, April 29 (IANS). United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres on Tuesday mentioned Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar about the situation following the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Jaishankar himself gave information about this conversation on the social media platform ‘X’ (East Twitter). He wrote: “There was a telephone conversation with the United Nations Secretary -General Antonio Guterres. He strongly condemned the Pahalgam terror attack, for which India is grateful to him.” Jaishankar said that both parties during the talks agreed to the need for liability against terror. He reiterated that India is committed to bringing criminals, planners and their supporters of this attack into the dock. Earlier, an emergency meeting of the top officials related to safety was held chaired by Premier Narendra Modi. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Defense Rajnath Singh, national security adviser Ajit Deval and heads of the three armies. Prime Minister Modi said at this meeting that India will take decisive steps against terrorism. He gave full freedom to choose ‘mode, purpose and time’ and express full confidence in the armed forces. This tough attitude came after a horrific terror attack in Pahalgam, in which 26 innocent citizens lost their lives, most of whom were tourists. According to sources, the meeting was ‘very sensitive and extraordinary’ and is considered the direction of India’s response in the coming times. The clear intention of the government is that terrorism will not be tolerated in any form and will be answered in a decisive form. Let me tell you that leaders around the world have shown Solidarity with India after this terrorist act and raised their voice against terrorism. At the same time, the terrorist incident strongly condemned. -Ians DSC/CBT Share this story Tags
