Students demand resignation from vice -chancellor to protest against violent actions at Haryana Agricultural University

Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU), Hisar, after violent action against the protesting students on June 10, there is a wave of unrest in which about 20 students were injured. After the incident, a student who sat on an indefinite Dharna, the immediate resignation of the vice -chancellor, Dr. Baldev Raj Kambooj, claimed. The students accused them of not protecting the students and abusing their positions. The students also demanded the arrest and dismissal of Professor Radheshyam. He claims to have seriously injured a physical attack on several protesters. In addition, the students also have the registrar, Dr. Pawan Kumar, claimed, the director of the student’s welfare, dr. ML Khichhar and the chief safety officer Sukhbir Singh, to be prosecuted for violence on students on campus. Students protest and call on university officials to withdraw the controversial amendment, causing science to be cut. ICAR also insists on restoring the original structure to meet the criteria. Despite repeated attempts, the vice -chancellor, Dr. Br Kambooj, not contacted. Dr Sk Pahuja, dean of the agricultural college, said he was in contact with the students and also met the students who were injured in the hospital. While requesting the students to negotiate with the university administration, he said that the incident of violence would be investigated and that action would be taken later. The Congress (Sirsa) Kumari Selja met the disturbing students today, saying that the incident of Lathicharge reflects the dictatorial attitude of the university administration. He called on chief minister of Naib Singha Singaine to immediately take note of the incident of serious injuries to the students. He said: “I have noticed that attempts are made to suppress the incident that is a criminal act. I call on Hisar SP to take the matter seriously and show sensitivity in the case. The police should set no wrong example.” He said the vice -chancellor is full of responsibility for this incident. The incident happened on June 10, 2025, after the students started a peaceful Dharna outside the vice -chancellor’s office. The students, hurt by these incidents, today presented a formal complaint to the president, the Chief Justice of India and the Prime Minister.
