Reliance Jio launches Jiopc to convert any TV into a cloud -based tabletop: price, specifications and more | Mint

Reliance Jio has eradicated a new cloud -based virtual table computation service, Jiopc, aimed at turning any television into a functional personal computer. The service eliminates the need for a separate CPU by working entirely through the Jio-Set Top subject, which is compatible with existing Jiofiber connections or can be purchased independently. Jiopc enables users to connect a keyboard and mouse to their TV to access a virtual table computer interface. It runs on the cloud and uses ubuntu (Linux) as its operating system. The platform is intended for basic computer tasks, including web browsing, programming, online learning and documentworking. However, it does not currently support hardware rand equipment such as webcams or printers. The service is offered on a pay-as-you-go base, with no long-term contracts or maintenance costs. Monthly plans start at £ 599 plus GST, and customers can opt for packages with longer duration that include extra months of free use. For example, a £ 1,499 plan covers three months with an extra month, a total of four months unlimited use. Similarly, the annual plan of £ 4,599 has three extra months, extending the total service to 15 months. Jiopc’s virtual machine configuration contains four CPUs, 8 GB of RAM and 100 GB of cloud storage. In addition to the base software, with Libreoffice, users can access Microsoft Office applications via browser-based access. Subscribers will also receive a one -month trial period with access to Jio Workspace, Microsoft Office Tools on browser and 512 GB of cloud storage expanded. To increase creative and productivity capabilities, Jiopc has a partnership with Adobe to provide users free access to Adobe Express, a graphic design platform and the creation of content. The subscription also contains access to AI instruments and other applications commonly used, which improve its utility for users without access to a traditional computer setup. Setting up the service involves adjusting the Jio-Set Top subject, launching the Jiopc application via the Apps Division and registering through a linked contact number. Once reported, the cloud tabletop becomes immediately accessible. An uninterrupted internet connection is essential for the use of the service, as all computer processes are performed on remote servers. With its cloud-first approach, Jiopc is an alternative to students, home users and others looking for basic table computer functionality without the cost of conventional hardware.
