Ranya Rao case: Sahil Jain, the third accused sent 14 days after judicial detention
Mumbai, April 2 (IANS). A special court for economic crime in the golden smuggling case related to actress Ranya Rao sent the third accused Sahil Jain on Wednesday after 14 days. The Revenue Intelligence Directorate yielded Sahil’s supervision after the end of the detention period. Ranya, half -daughter of senior police officer Ramchandra Rao, was arrested on March 3 on a charge of smuggling 14.2 kg of gold. The price of this gold is more than Rs 12.56 crore. On March 27, a sitting court in Bengaluru rejected the bail of the Kannada actress. His bail pleader was rejected for the third time. Earlier, his bail pleader was also rejected by the Special Court and Magistrate’s Court for Economic Crime. The prosecution argued in court that the actress admitted that he had used Hawala money to buy gold. Officials have issued notice to begin a judicial inquiry against him as it will reveal other financial irregularities. Tarun Raju, a close help from the actress, is the second accused in the case. The court has not yet expressed the ruling on his bail pleader. Sona businessman Sahil Jain was arrested for the involvement in hiding the gold of smuggling related to Ranya Rao. This is the third arrest in the case. Jain was sent to four days of police supervision for further investigation. Earlier, Advocate Madhu Rao, who appeared in the Special Economic Crime Court for the Revenue Intelligence Directorate (DRI), said that Tarun and Ranya visited Dubai about 26 times.
