Professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad's arrest of fundamental rights: Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani
New -Delhi, May 19 (IANS). Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani, president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, expressed concern about the arrest of Professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad of the University of Ashoka, who describes it as a violation of constitutional rights. He hoped that the matter would be revised according to the highest ideals of justice. Maulana Madni said that the statement by Professor Ali Khan, who is also in my knowledge, is exceptionally understanding to present as high treason or insult. As far as criticism or disagreement is concerned, it is allowed, even if it has to do with the government itself. It is a determined fact that disagreement with the government or any class or organization of the country is not the same as opposing the country. Maulana Madani also referred to the double standards of government and administration, saying that on the one hand a minister of Madhya Pradesh, Colonel Qureshi, is called a ‘Sister of Terrorists’, for which the Court reprimanded him, but no disciplinary action by the government or the party was arrested by become. This approach promotes disbelief among people against institutions that offer justice. Maulana Madani said that the institutions that protect justice must understand that the purpose of the law is to protect the freedom of citizens. The democratic system is determined by respecting ideas rather than fear or silence. Maulana Madani insisted that the government of India intervene in the case and take immediate and effective steps for the unconditional release of Professor Ali Khan. Ali Khan Mahmudabad, who learned political science at the University of Ashoka in Haryana, was arrested for his comments on ‘Operation Sindoor’. According to sources, Mahmudabad was arrested on the complaint of the BJP Yuva Morcha Secretary Secretary Yogesh Jatheri in Haryana. A case of high treason is also registered against him. -Ians SK/GKT shares this story tags
