Former Nysc Director General, Retired Major General Tiga, Others were rescued after a few weeks in Bandits's captivity

The National Counter Terrorism Center has handed over the former Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Maharazu Tsiga, who spent twenty-two days in captivity, along with 18 other saved kidnapping victims to national security adviser Nuhu Ribadu. The handover took place in Abuja on Thursday. At the event, Ribadu praised the efforts of the security forces and intelligence agencies involved in the rescue operation. He emphasized the Nigerian government’s commitment to improving national security and ensured the safety of all citizens. Meanwhile, Saharan Porters previously reported that the kidnappers of the former Director General of the NYSC demanded a ransom of N250m for its release. General Tsiga was abducted when numerous armed men stormed his home in Katsina state. The attackers allegedly surrounded the house and started breaking doors, asking the retired general to walk outside and confront them. A federal legislature representing Bakori/Danja -Federal constituency, Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai, confirmed the abduction, saying that the attackers took control of the premises before taking away General Tsiga.
