Islamabad-Dhaka: Pakistan's Foreign Minister arrived in Bangladesh for the first bilateral talks in 15 years

Dhaka, April 16 (IANS) The growing closeness between Bangladesh and Pakistan was seen again. Pakistan Foreign Minister Aamna reached Dhaka on Wednesday for Baloch Foreign Office Counseling (FOC). FOC is held after a gap of 15 years. High -level speaks between the two countries in South Asia will be held at Government Guest Home ‘Padma’ on Thursday. The host delegation is led by Bangladesh Minister Jasim Uddin. “The entire series of bilateral issues is expected to be discussed between the two parties,” an official of the Foreign Ministry in Bangladesh said. He said that since this talk has happened after a long time, no special agenda has been corrected. All areas of mutual importance are likely to be included during the discussion. The relationship between Dhaka and Islamabad was stressed during the 15 -year -old rule of the Voor the Awami League government for different historical reasons. Important issues in Bangladesh-Pakistan relations have always been the role of Pakistan in the massacre during the 1971 liberation struggle, the return and compensation of trapped assets. The Pakistani army killed millions during the liberation war in 1971 and allegedly raped hundreds of thousands of women in Bangladesh. However, things have changed a lot since the formation of the interim government led by Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus in August 2024. The attitude of the Yunus government was very soft about Islamabad. Aamna Baloch can also meet Yunus and Foreign Advisor on Thursday. In September, Younus met Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif at the United Nations General Assembly. During this time, the two leaders agreed to strengthen bilateral relationships. In January, four highly placed ISI officials, including Director -General Major General Shahid Amin officer, visited Dhaka. This journey has made significant changes to Bangladesh-Pakistan relations. -Ians mk/ share this story tags
