Saugandhika -blom, for which Bhima wars
Dharm Saugandhika Phool, for which Bhima introduced the war, Mahabharata describes a divine flower named Saugandhika. During the discovery of this flower, Bhima met Hanuman and he had to fight a lot of fierce battle. According to legend, Pandava and Draupadi reached Badrikashram during captivity. As he visits the bush there, a flower falls into Draupadi’s feet. Draupadi became fascinated by the beauty and aroma of that flower. He expressed his desire to get more flowers. To fulfill the wish of Draupadi, Bhima began searching for the flower. Bhima crossed many dangerous forests and mountains, where he faced many wild animals and demons. Eventually, they reach the Gandhamadan Mount, where they see a dam full of Saugandhika flowers. The dam and the garden were owned by Kubera, the god of wealth. As he moved in the direction of the dam, he stood to Hanuman. Hanuman takes the shape of an old monkey and lies on the path of Bhima. Bhima told Hanuman to change his way, but Hanuman said he was very old and could not remove his tail. Bhima tried to remove Hanuman’s tail, but he failed. When Bhima recognized Hanuman, he apologized to Hanuman and continued with his blessings. Kubera’s garden was protected by demons named Maniman and Krodhavasha.
