Prohibition on Alcohol on Independence Day and JanMashtami; Will Ganesh Chaturthi be banned as well
On the eve of the Independence Day, August 15, there will be a ban on the sale of alcoholic drinks in Mumbai, whereby shop owners cannot open their stores on Friday. Independence Day, Janmashtami and Ganesh Chaturthi, all three falls this month, so the excise department marked a few days prohibiting the sale of liquor in the city. The first day (Friday), August 15, Independence Day to ban the sale of liquor in Mumbai. The State Axial Division has banned the sale of drugs on this day. It is essentially dry day all over India and during this time all liquor stores, bar, bar and wine stores will be closed. Apart from August 15, the excise department also banned the sale of drug products on August 16 and 27. The second dry day in Mumbai is the next day of August 15. Since the birthday of Lord Krishna on August 16 (Saturday) JanMashtami, there are often restrictions on this event in Maharashtra due to its religious significance. However, it is not a national dry day. The third dry day in August falls on August 27, which is a symbol of the start of Ganesh Chaturthi, which is celebrated with large pump in Maharashtra. Although it is officially celebrated on the first day of the Dry Day festival, officials can impose additional restrictions due to the days of immersion, especially on September 5 and 6, public marches and large -scale meetings.
