The last meeting of the Assam cabinet in Delhi today expected big decisions

In light of finding a proposal on the demarcation process in Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday called all the state ministers to the national capital for an important cabinet meeting. 126 Seats and 14 Lok Sabha seats must be demarcated in Assam. It has been observed that demarcation could affect the 2024 attracting Sabha election. On December 27, the India Electoral Commission launched the demarcation of the meeting and the parliamentary constituencies in Assam. The 2001 census data will be used for the purpose of adjusting the constituencies of the meeting and parliamentary constituencies in the state. Election Commissioners Anoop Chandra Pandey and Arun Goyal ordered Asam’s chief election officer to increase the case with the state government to set up a complete ban on the construction of new administrative units by finalizing the demarcation from January 1, 2023. During demarcation, the commission will take into account physical facilities, existing boundaries of administrative units, communication facilities, public facilities, and as far as possible constituencies as geographically compact areas. After the commission has finalized a concept of constituencies in Assam, it will be published in the central and government newspapers to invite proposals/objections from the general public. In this regard, a notice will also be published in two local state newspapers, which will be specified for the date and location of public meetings that will be held in the state.
