India knocked out in Bangladesh on Saturday about the alleged kidnapping and subsequent murder of Hindu leader Bhabesh Chandra Roy. In a statement on X, India said the government of Bangladesh ‘must comply with its responsibility to protect all minorities’. Foreign Minister Randhir Jaiswal took to Microblogging Platform X, said the ‘brutal murder’ of Bhabesh Chandra Roy is following a ‘pattern of systematic prosecution’ of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. “We noticed the kidnapping and brutal murder of Shri Bhabesh Chandra Roy, a Hindu minority leader in Bangladesh, with trouble,” Jaiswal wrote. “This murder follows a pattern of systematic prosecution of Hindu minorities under the interim government, even if the perpetrators of previous such events with impunity,” he added. Jaiswal further condemns the incident and calls on the interim government in Dhaka to ensure protection for all minorities, including Hindus. “We condemn this incident and once again remind the interim government to protect its responsibility to protect all minorities, including Hindus, without finding out excuses or distinguishing,” he said.
