"Microsoft" and "G42" work together to create two Centers for Artificial Intelligence in Abu Dhabi

Microsoft and G42 (G42) intends to establish two Centers for Artificial Intelligence in Abu Dhabi, after signing an agreement worth $ 1.5 billion and the UAE’s approval to abandon its activities in China. One of the two centers will develop the best practices and industrial standards to use artificial intelligence, according to a statement issued on Tuesday. Microsoft also intends to open the first laboratory for ‘artificial intelligence for goodness’ in the region, to support social goals, such as improving food security and the efforts to confront climate change. Microsoft and G42, vice president of Microsoft and his president, said in a statement: “We are committed to taking extra steps with (G42) to improve the responsible use of the artificial intelligence of our clients, and not only between our business but also between our two countries.” These steps fall within the framework of the “Microsoft” partnership with “G42”, which seeks to become a great force in the field of artificial intelligence in the Middle East. G42 is part of a rich worth $ 1.5 trillion, owned by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and the UAE National Security Adviser, and the brother of the UAE president. G42 also partnered with Openai, which invented the Chat GBT chat robot and tried to expand in the Gulf region. Washington Criticism was the “G42” business, based in Abu Dhabi, was criticized in Washington in the past, where some lawmakers asked for sanctions against them because of the allegations of the association with Chinese enterprises, including the Huawei company. “G42” has denied any “relations with the Chinese government or its military industrial complex.” The United States imposed restrictions on the export of slides to the Middle East, partly because of the fear that Chinese companies, which are largely isolated from advanced US technology, may be able to achieve this through databases in the region. In an interview with Bloomberg in June, the UAE Minister of Inspection acknowledged that US concern was justified. Nevertheless, reports said earlier this month that the United States agreed to sell ‘G42’ chips. G42 is committed to taking measures to secure artificial intelligence systems against attacks and tests, as part of its obligations to the governments of the United States and the UAE, according to the joint statement.
