Bihar: Co -operative Minister Prem Kumar gave the best wishes, the first test shipping of vegetable leave to Dubai
Patna, June 4 (IANS). Bihar Minister of Co-operative Prem Kumar said in a conversation with the news agency on Wednesday that it is a historic day for the Bihar agricultural and cooperative sector. He expressed happiness and pride that Bihar’s vegetables will now make an identity in the international market. The first test shipping by the Bihar wage federation leaving for Dubai, which is a new beginning. The minister said the consignment of 1500 kg of vegetables was sent to the famous Lulu shopping center in Dubai with the efforts of the Mandal and Magadha Vegetable Association on Harish Sangh, former trade union, Tirut. These include Jackfruit, Okra, Bitter Calebas, Calebas, Banana and other vegetables. This consignment will reach Dubai from Patna via Varanasi Airport. Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (Apeda) played an important role. Shipment was marked from the GRI News Nalla’s Studies Institute. Prem Kumar said that this consignment is a symbol of the hard work of the Bihar farmers, the fertility of our land and the thinking of the government. This step will open new doors for Bihar in international markets in the future. This is a big step towards the realization of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s dream “Bihari vegetables in each plate”. Bihar vegetables are now crossing the state borders and reaching abroad. The minister said the unions of vegetable producers were formed in 491 blocks to strengthen the cooperative structure. All blocks will be covered by June 30. Currently, more than 46,000 farmers are associated with these committees. So far, 95 lakh 940 metric tons of vegetables have had a turnover of about Rs 72 crore. It is clear that the reach of farmers has increased due to organized efforts. Bihar Lage Federation offers farmers the facilities of modern farming techniques, quality seeds, plants, processing and marketing. This will increase the income of farmers and give the global identity to Bihar’s agricultural products. The minister said this step is a milestone to fulfill the dream of developed Bihar. Prem Kumar said the demand for Bihari vegetables in Dubai could increase by 45 percent. There is also a question from other countries, including Singapore. He congratulated the Bihar wage federation, the Department of Cooperation, Secretary, Registrar and the Associations. The minister greeted the farmers, officials and all the associations, whose hard work made it possible.
