UL-III power project will be inaugurated soon will the revenue of Rs 200 crore available
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said today that the 100 MW OH phase-III hydroelectric project will soon be formally inaugurated. He said: “The state government has strengthened the work on the project with financial aid of Rs 185 Crore, which was damaged on May 17, 2020 as a result of Penstock Burst. Therefore, 2.97 crore units have been generated so far since its commissioning.” He said that the UL Charan-III project, launched in 2003, was completed after 22 years. After being fully implemented, it is expected to earn 392 million units of electricity annually, which will give the state an income of about 200 crores each year. Sukhu said that state government will strengthen Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) and provide all possible assistance to the people of the state to ensure better services. Sukhu, who is serving on the meeting of the Energy Division, said that the field staff will be widely recruited to ensure a smooth operation on the ground level. He appreciated the important role of HPSEBL officials and employees in maintaining regular power source in the state. He said that several HPSEBL officials are currently delegated in the Enerectorate of Energy, Himachal Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited and Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited. He said these officers should get the option to permanently join their organizations by April 30. To ensure the effective operation of organizations, the government will fill the remaining vacancies on priority base. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Technical Education Rajesh Dharmani, chief adviser of Chief Minister Ram Subhag Singh, chief minister’s secretary Rakesh Kanwar, director Energy Rakesh Kumar Prajapati, HPSEBL managing director Sandeep Kumar and other senior department officials.
