Offenses are the prisoner dead in the Araria jail, family accused of harassment, officials begin to investigate

A 46 -year -old prisoner considered was found dead in the mysterious circumstances in the Araria district on Thursday, causing a dispute between the prison officials and the family of the deceased. Recently, the prison sentence of Sohrab Khan was found dead in the prison toilet, claiming to have committed suicide. However, his family expressed serious concern and claimed to have been tortured in custody by prison staff. According to jail superintendent Sujit Kumar Jha, Khan was jailed by Palasi police on Thursday. Jha said Khan complained that he felt bad shortly after the arrival, after which the prison authorities immediately recognized him in the prison clinic for medical treatment. However, the Superintendent said Khan later left the clinic without informing officials and going to the prison toilet, where he allegedly committed suicide. Superintendent Jha said: “The body was found in the toilet, and Khan was immediately rushed to a nearby government hospital, where he was pronounced dead.” After Khan’s death, Ram Kumar Singh, subdivision police officer (SDPO) of Araria, visited the hospital and confirmed that the body was sent to post -mortem. Singh said: “The exact cause of death will only be clear after the post of the Post -Mortem. A detailed investigation is done.” Despite the official statement, Khan’s family rejected the allegation that he had committed suicide. Family members spoke to reporters on Saturday, claiming that Sohrab Khan was physically tortured by the prison staff before his death. Before his death, he demanded a thorough investigation into the incidents and demanded justice for his family member. Khan’s family members insisted that the official version of suicide did not match his comments. A family member said: “We believe he has been tortured and therefore he is dead. He would never have taken such a big step. ‘The incident expressed serious concern about the position of prisoners and the behavior of the prisoners in the prisons of Bihar’s crowded and lack of resources. The state is facing a growing investigation into the violation of human rights within its prison system, and this latest incident has further strengthened the demand for more transparency and accountability.
